Assistance to the States-General on the states general Expo

Milano, 14/07/2009. Presenti agli Stati Generali indetti da Regione e Comune, ma per partecipare davvero alla realizzazione dell’Expo chiediamo un confronto permanente, trasparente e diviso per tavoli tematici con i soggetti sociali. Questa la principale proposta che Legambiente e tante altre associazioni e ong presenteranno in occasione dei prossimi Stati Generali in programma a Milano il prossimo 16 e 17 luglio. Per l'occasione è stato aperto un sito web: www.legambienteexpo.org .
Ne hanno parlato questa mattina in una conferenza stampa, Andrea Poggio, Vice Direttore Nazionale di Legambiente, Damiano Di Simine, presidente di Legambiente Lombardia, Emanuele Patti, Presidente ARCI Milano, Angelo Marchesi, presidente AIAB Lombardia (agricoltori biologici) e Lele Pinardi, presidente di Colomba, il coordinamento delle ONG e delle associazioni di cooperazione della Lombardia.

“Siamo abituati a prendere seriamente le proposte che vengono fatte dal Sindaco e dal presidente della Regione. Il dossier di candidatura illustra un Expo della sostenibilità. Proposal B: International Environment Festival

Proposta C: Diffusione del biologico locale nelle mense.
A Milano la qualità delle decine di migliaia di pasti serviti nelle mense delle scuole milanesi può fare la differenza: la sfida di nutrire il pianeta comincia dai piatti dei nostri bambini. Per questo Legambiente, insieme ad AIAB, MDC e associazioni di genitori, chiedono alle istituzioni milanesi e lombarde di introdurre nelle ricette i prodotti di agricoltura biologica e di filiera short (the 'zero km' of the food does not go through half the world before arriving in the pot), which means healthier foods, nutrients and low environmental impact.

Proposal D: Compensation local climate. From

Progetto 1: Green Life - Costruire Città Sostenibili (già avviato)
Una Mostra Internazionale ed un percorso culturale che si aprirà nel febbraio 2010 alla Triennale di Milano. La mostra durerà 45 giorni, e metterà in mostra i quartieri e le architetture più innovative realizzate nelle città del mondo e in Italia nell’ambito della progettazione architettonica per creare eco-sistemi urbani sostenibili per il pianeta. Intendiamo con questo partecipare alla definizione dei criteri di progettazione per le infrastrutture dell'Expo (vedi scheda ).

Progetto 2: Da www.stopthefever.org , the local website of commitments to sustainability (September 2009)

Project 3: Environmentally Friendly Innovation Award (already started)

Project 4: Central Mobility (already started)

Progetto 5: Il Parco dell’Expo (già avviato)
Il progetto di compensazione ecologica “Parco dell’Expo” si propone di vincolare a 'trasformazione ecologica' una superficie di territorio doppia rispetto a quella del suolo che verrà utilizzato per creare i quartieri espositivi, che deve essere acquisito e 'rinaturato' attraverso un intervento di carattere forestale, con onere a carico della trasformazione urbanistica. A ridosso dell'area Expo esiste un vasto ambito di 750 ettari, quasi totalmente Parco Agricolo Sud Milano ed innervato da una fitta trama di vie d'acqua, che si presta a dare corpo al “Parco dell’Expo”: un grande 'sistema verde' di 150 ettari di prati, filari, boschi e siepi che lo colleghino a Milano, potendo contare sulla animazione da parte delle associazioni locali, sulla collaborazione delle imprese agricole e su standard di qualità di progetti e interventi quali quelli realizzati fino ad oggi dal CFU – Boscoincittà di Italia Nostra (vedi scheda ).

Progetto 6: Ecoturismo per l'Expo
Legambiente è da anni impegnata nella diffusione della certificazione dell'accoglienza turistica: allo scopo ha definito due progetti, uno per Milano ed uno per la ricettività diffusa nel Parco Sud, in vista dell'Expo con lo scopo non solo di qualificare dal punto di vista ambientale l'esistente, ma anche creare una nuova offerta convertendo le strutture edilizie esistenti, in città e nell'hinterland agricolo (vedi scheda ).
